Modern Kitchen Renewal

Our team took on a renovation for a client looking to create their dream kitchen, while making space for a powder room, laundry, and informal pantry. A former professional chef, the homeowner’s focus was on low-maintenance, easy-to-clean finishes and an abundance of natural light, counter space and storage.

After

A special request from the client was an all-stainless steel countertop on one side of the kitchen, which seamlessly integrates a deep sink. The other side of the kitchen has a durable soapstone countertop, and throughout, the kitchen is flanked by bright white cabinetry with brass hardware. The kitchen also includes a window backsplash over the sink, key in making the space feel even brighter and larger than it is.

To increase the footprint available, we utilized some of the existing garage space to create a pantry and extend the kitchen. We further opened up the kitchen to the living room by installing a structural beam that allowed one of the interior walls to come down. This opened the heart center of the home, creating a connection to the living room while cooking or entertaining. In addition to the overall construction, our team also completed most of the trade work in-house including the drywall, tile, and cabinet installation.

  • "We felt more like a partner than a client. They were great at facilitating the work & keeping the project moving forward to completion. We appreciated the open communication from the office & workers on site through the whole process. We are so pleased with the craftsmanship provided & the end result is exactly what we wanted.”

In the powder and laundry room, heated geometric tile was patterned in white, black, and yellow, and finished with a water-based low-VOC finish. Not only is tile especially durable, but a low-VOC finish contributes to better overall air quality.
