Michael Ashley Delfaro, "Ash" (They/Them)
Social Benefits Officer, Carpenter
Ash went to school for Environmental Design in Western Massachusetts, and began their journey into carpentry around that same time. They are enamored with thoughtful design, and the possibilities creative problem-solving hold for our communities and our environment. The mission of 3BLC feels incredibly aligned with such ideals and they are thrilled to be a part of this forward-thinking company. Carpentry for them is fun and rewarding - the need to be constantly producing new solutions for unique situations is incredibly engaging for them, and they love the very tangible community building aspect of the trade as well. When they're not at work, you just might find them "jogging" (read: dancing) with their dog or trying to make people laugh by any means possible.

Riley Hendron (He/Him/They/Them)
Owner / Carpenter
After graduating with a BA in audio production from The Evergreen State College, Riley knew that it would take more than a desk job to keep him engaged. Eventually dedicating himself to the field of carpentry, Riley enrolled in Seattle Central College’s residential carpentry program, where he completed most of his AAS degree before instruction was cut short by a global pandemic. Working to hone his craft, and continue the never-ending journey of learning how to build in more environmentally responsible ways, Riley has found a wealth of knowledge and experience at 3BLC. Finding effective and creative ways to solve the exciting puzzles that inevitably arise in residential remodel work is what he says he looks forward to each day. Outside of work, Riley is a lover of music, dance, people, and a well told story.

After six years managing a landscaping crew and finishing a degree in Geography he moved to Seattle where he started in a cabinet shop but quickly realized he wanted to work on the whole house. Zach got interested in green building through the Eco Building Guild and is excited to be part of an environmentally focused cooperative.

Everley Burgess
Project Manager
Everley has been building and designing since the late 80’s when he first apprenticed with a fine furniture maker making heirloom furniture and restoring European wood pipe organs. This sparked a broader interest in architecture, leading to positions in several architectural firms, and eventually to owning his own design-build company. With a focus on fine craftsmanship, he designed and built small buildings; traditional Japanese teahouses, saunas, art studios and other intimate spaces meant to reflect the client’s ideas of “sanctuary.” His diverse experience, both at the drawing board and in the field, allowed for a seamless transition into Project Management. As a project manager, he’s passionate about being involved in all aspects of a project from budgeting to working alongside, and learning from, so many talented craftspeople in Seattle’s building community.
To unwind, Everley enjoys making furniture and jewelry, but is most satiated by quiet, slow days with family and friends.

Elliot Bays
Carpenter
Elliot’s journey into carpentry started at Rainier National Park on the trail crew. It would eventually lead him to Olympic National Park, where he spent a decade shaping trails, rigging cable pulley systems to install log bridges, and restoring historic cabins. As a lead on the trail crew, he learned to work with both the land and the elements, building a strong foundation—literally and figuratively—for his craft.
Seeking to refine his skills, Elliot studied fine woodworking at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking. Since then, he’s contributed to a range of intricate residential and commercial projects, always drawn to the challenge and precision that carpentry demands. His passion extends beyond the craft itself—he’s deeply interested in sustainable design and green building, always looking for ways to blend traditional craftsmanship with forward-thinking techniques.
When he’s not working with wood, you’ll find Elliot creating art and furniture, backpacking through the wilds of the Pacific Northwest, or exploring its beauty alongside his partner and their dog.

Mark Klco
Site Lead
Mark’s introduction to carpentry began under the guidance of his Slovakian grandfather. Even as he earned an undergraduate degree in Spiritual Psychology from Antioch and advanced training in Family Systems Psychology at LIOS, construction became his lifelong career.
Mark established his own company, Klco Construction, in 1997 and has over 30 years of experience across Seattle and Whidbey Island. He built his family home and the common house in his co-housing neighborhood between 2021-2023, followed by a passive-sustainable timber frame house build for his neighbor, which fueled his interest in green building. Outside of work, Mark is a family man who enjoys hot springs and good cup of coffee.

Colin Veilleux
Carpenter
Colin grew up a ferry ride across the Puget Sound, with parents, neighbors, and friends who were makers and fixers of all sorts. With a childhood home under a near-constant state of remodel and summers spent helping his dad with building projects, he still swings the same purple-handled hammer he was given as a kid. While finishing up a BS in Environmental Health at the University of Washington, he was introduced to the world of high-performance and sustainable design. He chose to follow this interest and pursue a Master of Architecture Degree at the University of Washington, searching for what it means to design and build generous places to live, for both people and the planet. A firm believer that every project is part of a bigger ecosystem, he is excited to help find solutions that make the places we live and grow just a little bit better.
Colin can often be found spending his spare hours outside and active around the city, in the mountains, or on the water.
